Garmentory | UX Design

As part of the brand redesign project, I worked with our lead developer to re-think and design many features on the website to make them more user-friendly. Figma and the Adobe Creative Suite have been my main tools to go from rough sketches and ideations to pixel-perfect and clear iterations for dev. As a marketplace that relies on small boutiques and independent designers for imagery and product, the variation of product and imagery can easily make the site feel disjointed—so, my main goal as a designer was to create changes that brought more trust to Garmentory through intuitive UX combined with an elevated brand identity.

Some of my work in Figma for the home page and product pages, as well as other areas of the site, can be viewed here.

My Feed Project

One of my biggest projects has been strategizing and designing a way for customers to have a more customized shopping experience. Garmentory is a marketplace for designers and boutiques that bring over 300,000 products to the site, which can create an overwhelming shopping experience for customers. “My Feed” is our way to solve this problem by allowing customers to follow their favorite brands and boutiques, and mark their size preferences in each category. Then, when a user enters the site, instead of seeing every single new product, they can click on “My Feed” and view the newest products in their brands, boutiques, and preferred sizes only—creating a streamlined, customized shopping experience from boutiques and brands all around the world!

We’ve added “My Feed” to the lefthand navigation on all shopping product category pages, with the ability to browse all of their favorited items, or select specific brands or boutiques to shop. Since launching “My Feed” on the navigation, Garmentory had over 2,000 customers saving their preferences in the first three weeks.
